Lindsay Dahl from Healthy Legacy is here to talk to us about how to avoid toxic chemicals in our everyday lives. Healthy Legacy began as a joint project of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy and the Clean Water Fund of Minnesota in the summer of 2006. With the addition of six steering committee organizations, the program has developed to represent a broad spectrum of interests including healthcare, citizens with disabilities, environmental justice, and environmental health. We look forward to expanding the coalition and continuing our work to leave a legacy for our children that leaves them safe, healthy and with prospects for reaching their full potential.

gfcc-logo.gifAbby Andrusko is here from the Grass Fed Cattle Company to talk about the importance of local, grass-fed beef.  The Grass Fed Cattle Company is a cooperative of local farmers that specialize in raising 100% grass fed cattle, on free range, with no added hormones or antibiotics.  Grass fed beef tastes better and it is higher in Omega 3's and Vitamins A and E.   Also, raising cattle exclusively on grass is the most energy efficient method.  It is healthier for the environment and for you!  You can purchase whole, half, quarter or sampler packs of this frozen meat and save around %30 when compared to purchasing an equivalent product at a grocery store!

Very Dark Green Tip #345,908: So, you're driving a hybrid, solar heating your water, not eating meat, and looking for that next idea to lower your carbon footprint... many ecoists out there are turning to one of the biggest energy gobblers in your home - the refrigerator. And no, we're not talking about making sure the frige door is sealed well or cleaning your coils... today's tip is to get rid of your frige. Sounds a little extreme, but some folks are making a go of it. Most are still utilizing some sort of freezer to freeze 2 liter bottles of water to use in a cooler or cold box. But depending on your diet, maybe you could make it work. It might be a little more difficult if you're a big consumer of dairy. Seems like an interesting challenge... it would definitely make you reconsider your eating habits.

Here is the video to Casual Mafia's song, "In My Prius."  Toyota should jump on this.  Enjoy.
